On board the film is actor JO HARTLEY, who will play LISA

Jo is a wonderful, down-to-earth, northern actor who cares about her craft. She has been involved in some of the most successful TV dramas and independent films in the last ten years. Director Ricci is a huge admirer of her work, having followed her career since Dead Man's Shoes in 2004. He is excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with her on TRUANCY.

Jo often plays the working-class 'every woman' which makes it very easy for the audience to relate to her. She conveys vulnerability effortlessly, but there is always a sense of rebellion behind her eyes. It is this quality that Ricci wants to tap into and explore through her performance as Lisa., a woman who has been trapped in a sexless marriage for thirty years and is longing for escape.

Jo's work spans both mainstream and independent film and television. Her extensive past credits include: Shane Meadows' This is England (2006), This is England ‘86, ‘88, ‘90, (2010-2015) and Eddie the Eagle (2016). In 2018 she has starred alongside Michael Sheen and Simon Pegg in Slaughterhouse Rulez, as well as playing deceived wife Denise in Bliss, written by David Cross for Sky Atlantic.

The role of STEVE is yet to be cast. Ricci is looking for the next Jack O'Connell and will work alongside casting director Anna Kennedy to workshop young northern actors.
